Summary

The Stamps Gallery seeks a Gallery Attendant to work with us on a temporary part-time basis starting Thursday, April 18, 2024 - Saturday, May 4, 2024. You will report to the Stamps Gallery Director and will be responsible for opening/closing the gallery, enhancing the visitor experience, and monitoring the safety of the artworks in the show. Key responsibilities include greeting visitors when they enter the exhibition and answering any questions they may have. You will be responsible for walking through the gallery spaces hourly, to make sure that all the work is in its place and ensure that guests do not get too close to the artwork or touch the artwork or installations. Additionally, you may assist with light office administration duties such as updating the Visitor's Log and Gallery Mailing List as needed.

Required Qualifications*

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A genuine and demonstrated interest in learning about exhibitions and contemporary artists
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a Gallery setting is desired

Background Screening
