Summary

Provide excellent leadership to clerical team, outstanding customer service to patients, faculty, nursing, and genetic counselors. Coordinate various complex procedures and interventions within the FDTC and coordinate with other disciplines. Answer multi-line phones, maintain prompt billing entry, HR liaison, payroll, maintain mandatories, work with the administrative manager to complete yearly evaluations, order supplies, place maintenance, and housekeeping tickets, obtain insurance authorizations, and verify insurance.  Address physicians, staff and patients? needs in a busy, fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities*

Provide excellent leadership and training to the clerical team. Develops or modifies operational practices, consistent with established standards.  Manage scheduling grids, EPIC reports, work queues, blue folders for the clerical team, responsible for managing the reconciliation report and billing.  Ensure that financial documentation, referring physician/PCP information and insurance information is obtained.  Coordinate complex fetal therapy cases.  Act as a liaison between the FDTC and other disciplines.  Recommends the procurement and applicability of new equipment and supplies. Plans and conducts in-service training programs for students, trainees, and new staff members. Assures compliance with affirmative action and safety programs. Maintain compliance with regulatory and licensing agencies.  Management responsibilities include interviewing, training of employees; planning and directing their work; appraising their productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status; handling complaints and grievances and disciplining when necessary.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent education experience.
  • Reasonable professional experience with some prior management, supervisory or team leader experience is normally required.
  • Must present a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, management, and staff. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Must be an organized, self-motivated, multi-tasker with strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational and effective time management skills.  
  • Outstanding customer service skills, team player and motivated self-starter.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality is a must.

Desired Qualifications*

  • At least two years' experience in a health care setting.  
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
