Summary

Basic Function and Responsibility

This 1.0 FTE inventory control clerk will perform day-to-day duties in specialty pharmacy warehouse for optimal supply chain and shipping operations at the facility.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will focus on supply chain logistics of non-drug inventory (cold chain packaging supplies, room temperature packaging supplies, bulk orders of non-drug inventory) and courier delivery/pickup of supplies to/from the specialty pharmacy facility. The incumbent will provide supply chain logistics support for the specialty pharmacy and other areas within the Department of Pharmacy.

Core functions:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight and supplies to/from the facility for the Department.
  • Coordinate dock schedule and staging of inbound and outbound freight.
  • Operate Forklift/Hi-Lo to store inventory and recall inventory for onsite use or for relocation elsewhere in the health system.
  • Accept medication deliveries on behalf of licensed pharmacy staff.
  • Replenish non-drug supplies including shipping and packing supplies, prescription medication supplies (bottles, vials, caps)
  • Construct kits and shipping supplies for use within the Department
  • Manage non-drug inventory including forecasting usage, ordering, receipt, and storage.
  • Provides information to determine status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders.
  • Compiles records of amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand.
  • Monitors reorder points, and initiates action to replenish stock.
  • Reconciles discrepancies in inventories.
  • Notifies supervisor of irregularities and when stock reaches designated reorder point.
  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of inventories and computes inventory balances, prices and costs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications*

  • 2-3 years of experience in pharmacy supply chain logistics
  • Forklift/Hi-Lo operator certification, or ability to attain certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
