Responsibilities*
Job Functions/Duties:
- Under general direction, responsible for the management, performance, and completion of projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Takes projects from original concept through completion. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of complex problems.
- Data Mining, Data Analysis with use of statistical skills for Clinical Risk and Grievance/Complaint improvement opportunities from disparate clinical and administrative sources.
- Create executive summaries for top leadership on submitted data and identified trends.
- Design, implement and maintain data dashboards on secure website.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree and more than four years of experience in healthcare systems, routinely interacting with mid and senior-level leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with complex data needs.
- Knowledge of University policies, rules, regulations, structure and hierarchy.
- Experience with gathering, elucidating and validating data and information requirements.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as RL Solutions, Tableau, Business Objects, Crystal Reports.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction techniques.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including MS Access.
- Candidate must have excellent communication, written, oral and presentation skills and superb organizational and time management skills.
- A willingness to pursue Project Management Certification (PMP) if not already obtained.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with Data Warehouse, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Training and experience in statistical methods and computing, including predictive modeling.
- Experience with statistical packages (such as SAS, SPSS) and advanced Excel. Knowledge of Qualtrics.
Additional Information
Works collaboratively with groups across the Michigan Medicine/UMH to improve quality and safety. Uses the Patient Safety Reporting System, Claims Database, and other relevant data systems combined with chart reviews to determine rates of incidence and prevalence. Facilitates identification of opportunities for improvement; assists with designing, developing and implementing targeted interventions and, monitoring of pre- and post-implementation results. Participates in daily reviews of Patient Safety Reports. Assists with ensuring data quality, integrity and reliability through data review and database modification/revisions. Partners with Clinical Risk and institutional leaders to facilitate Large Scale Adverse Event disclosure and with the Patient Safety Event Team to initiate changes where gaps and/or opportunities for improvement are identified. Participates in evidence-based and novel QA/QI activities at both the local and department levels.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
