Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Clerical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support daily office operations. The Clerical Assistant will be responsible for managing files, updating paperwork, sending emails, and performing other general office clerk duties and errands.

Duration: Start immediately with an approximate duration of 3 months (will consider candidates who are unable to start until May 1, 2024)

Responsibilities*

  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as sorting, filing, and managing paperwork.
  • Answer phone calls and call customers back with basic information.
  • Create, edit, and proofread correspondence, emails and other documents.
  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate individuals.
  • Data entry and maintenance of databases.
  • Provide administrative support to other staff members as required.
  • Transport materials between our two office locations using the U-M bus system.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate?s degree, or higher is preferred.
  • Prior clerical or administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular).
  • Proficiency with Gmail/Google Documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically file and retrieve documents from filing systems.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Work Schedule

Hours: 7:15am-4:15pm (with a one hour lunch break)
