The ODEI Evaluation and Assessment (E&A) office is seeking a Technology Solutions Manager to support and manage database infrastructure and technology solutions to support data management, evaluation, and business processes for ODEI units, programming, and initiatives. Salesforce provides key data infrastructure to support ODEI's operations.  You will be responsible for working with the ODEI units to design data infrastructure to support their business processes as well as ODEI data and evaluation needs.
You will report to the Director of Evaluation and Assessment within ODEI. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position, and details can be worked out with your supervisor.

Note that this position is currently funded for two years with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.

Responsibilities*

Infrastructure Support (35%)

  • Support our ongoing data infrastructure needs, including current implementations of Salesforce, Tableau, Form Assembly, Cirrus Insight, Demandtools, Ownbackup, and other related tools/projects.  

Data Management (20%)

  • Coordinate with multiple groups to facilitate data collection and data management. Support the collection, storage, and reporting of data for authorized individuals' usage.
  • Create data visualizations, reports, and dashboards in Salesforce and Tableau to share with campus stakeholders

Development (10%)

  • Assist existing units with updates to systems or processes. 
  • Evaluate new projects for inclusion in the existing data infrastructure for compatibility
  • Work with groups to implement new projects from testing to production. 

Governance (10%)

  • Chair the Governance Committee for the Faculty / Staff Salesforce instance, including regular meetings and an annual review/update to the existing governance agreement. 
  • Participate in other governance groups for Salesforce, including the Student organization governance committee and the Connecting Michigan governance committee. 

User Training (10%)

  • Train new users and help groups with any existing training needs related to Salesforce or its ecosystem of tools. 

Research / Professional Development (10%)

  • Research and stay up-to-date on the latest changes to the Salesforce platform and any other related tools. Lead the Salesforce community of practice. 

License and Contract Management (5%)

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of new Salesforce users or other associated products (Cirrus, Form Assembly, etc).
  • Organize the annual contract purchase of Salesforce, including communicating with all active groups their options and costs each year to participate. 

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of application development experience, with some of those years as a Salesforce Developer
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Knowledge of Salesforce EDA (Education Data Architecture)
