Summary

Job Title:    Research Project Assistant
Duration:    2 Year temporary position
Hours:        20 hours over 4-5 days per week
Payrate:     $20-$25/hour depending on experience

Seeking a Research Assistant for a paid opportunity as a temp employee to support the execution of a psychosocial research study: Social Genomic Mechanisms of Health Disparities among AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) Cancer Survivors.

The goal of this project is to identify genomic pathways by which social and psychological factors influence gene expression and subsequent morbidity, mortality and quality of life among adolescent and young adult cancer survivors.
 


 

Responsibilities*

  • Work under the direct supervision of the project's Principal Investigator.
  • Assist with communications across participating cancer centers and community stakeholder groups.
  • Online survey construction.
  • Statistical data collection and management.
  • Process participant incentives.
  • Coordinate, schedule, attend, and contribute to meetings with study constituents and project team.
  • General administrative tasks.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with online survey construction (REDCap, Qualtrics, Google Forms) is required.
  • Excellent data management skills. 
  • Strong ability to think analytically.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and flexibility to work on multiple simultaneous tasks /projects.
  • Proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet application is required.
  • Meet timely deadlines and be willing to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Locations

This position will be in-person at the School of Social Work Building working 20 hours over 4-5 days per week. Schedule to be determined after position is filled.
