What You'll Do
You will manage the stewardship of media production and services in the Library's Digital Scholarship and Creative Spaces (DSCS) department. Stewardship of these services will include:
- Management and development of spaces and tools related to Media Production in the Shapiro Design Lab's three Media Production Rooms (Winberg Audio Production Room, Perlstein Editing Room, and Video Production Room)
- Consultation and instruction related to media production for U-M students, faculty, and staff
- Provide access to spaces and tools to students, staff, and faculty through online management and learning systems (LibCal, LibGuides, and Canvas)
- Supervise student employees who will be customer facing support, as model evolves and changes

Responsibilities*
- Stewardship and Management (40%)
- Oversee the management and development of media production and services within CSLT, including the three audio/video production spaces within the Shapiro Design Lab (Video Production Room, Winberg Audio Production Room, and Perlstein Editing Room)
- Consultation and Instruction (40%)
- Provide personal and course-related consultation and instruction around aspects of media production
- Supervision (10%)
- Supervise student staff who will assist in the daily operation of the media production services
- Service to the Library and Campus (10%)
- Serve on Library and campus committees where desired and appropriate
You will report to the Director of Digital Scholarship and Creative Spaces
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or combination of education and equivalent experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in media production tools, including audio-visual production equipment and software such as the Adobe Creative Suite, GarageBand/Logic Pro, iMovie/Final Cut Pro, Ableton, and Reaper
- Demonstrated experience overseeing technology in an educational environment, including media production
- Value diversity and the importance of inclusion expressed through a commitment to apply and incorporate the differences, complexities, and opportunities that diversity brings to an organization.
- Interest in the connections between media production and digital scholarship
- Experience documenting workflows and developing training materials as part of creative and inclusive service design work
- Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in written communication skills
- Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students in a technology and consultation-based environment
