The Alliance Management Fellow will report to the Senior Associate Director of Alliance Management, Corporate Research Alliances at Innovation Partnerships. This position will play a key role in supporting the growth and evolution of university-industry partnerships through which faculty conduct sponsored research.
This is a full-time 2-year, term-limited position, and is eligible for the University's standard benefits.
Responsibilities*
- Administrative/Operational Support: Collaborate with team members on all administrative and operational aspects of alliance management
- Market Research: Find and compile information on assigned companies, using sources such as news outlets, databases, & trade publications
- Data Analysis: Run, review, and derive insights from data sources, such as portals, reports, and dashboards
- Record-Keeping: Assist team members with recording and maintaining key information in Salesforce, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
- Documentation: Create and edit process documentation, presentations, web pages, and other written and visual materials related to assigned companies
- Coordination: Assist in coordinating corporate site visits and request for proposal (RFP) processes, ensuring logistical details are well-managed
- Communication: Facilitate communication between team members, company representatives, faculty researchers, and other internal and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with higher education and corporate cultures
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience responding to data or information requests requiring timeliness, customer service, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with productivity software (e.g., MS Office), or applications of comparable complexity
- Ability to complete projects and tasks with minimal oversight and direction
- High degree of energy and enthusiasm, and desire to function as an integral part of a joyous workplace
Desired Qualifications*
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Direct experience with the conduct and/or management of sponsored research
- Familiarity with U-M's research enterprise and data delivery environment
- Knowledge of relevant U-M systems (e.g., Business Objects, eRPM, Salesforce, Tableau, MReports) and information sources
Work Locations
Our office is located on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is a hybrid position with work completed onsite and remote.
