Responsibilities*

Assist Occupational and/or Physical therapists in the provision of therapy treatment to inpatients. This includes tasks such as: providing assistance with transfers and functional mobility skills, preparing equipment for treatment, ordering and stocking supplies, scheduling patients, assisting with the general organization and multidisciplinary communication, performing general maintenance and cleaning of equipment and space and some responsibility for orientation and supervision of volunteers.

Required Qualifications*

  • High School diploma or an equivalent of education and experience
  • Computer skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications*

  • Some experience working with patients in occupational and/or physical therapy is desirable
  • Good organizational skills, good phone etiquette, and able to independently initiate and follow through on job duties is desirable

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.  Hours are NON-Negotiable.  Some weekends and holidays are required.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
